Hair in the wind. As a French Poitou donkey mix, Frank has long-haired parts. He likes to hang them in the wind.
He loves the freedom and is a funny fellow. Combing is undesirable. He thinks dreadlocks are great. So he says.
His voice is strong and melodic and he uses it more often than his colleagues. He once wanted to be a rock star.
Walking at the front of the group is his thing. The main thing is to go faster than the others. He has to be able to squeal and jump for joy in between.
But Frank is never angry. He's just very cheerful and funny. He is totally curious and explores every nook and cranny. At 5 cm to the dog's snout you don't know; an Indian knows no fear.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. He has to know everything, know everyone and even have rehearsed how things work.
Frank captivates with his donkey charm. However, you have to set limits for him. Enforce instructions without becoming overbearing.
Frank needs clear information about yes or no. Otherwise he'll just go and eat grass 300 metres further on by himself. At the side of the road at the big crossroads.
Whoever leads Frank needs clarity. Unambiguous instructions. And also a bit of courage. When 250 kg start jumping next to you, you have to grab them.
Will you succeed in catching the fresh boy without robbing him of his joy? Motivation versus brake? Any idea how to get the hearty shaggy head with the fluffy ears to concentrate and cooperate?
We know how to do it, of course. But we won't tell you. But we are happy to extend an invitation to find out.
